Welcome to Dubdog, a blog by designer and educator Nigel Ball.
This site predominantly contains observations, opinions and throwaway comments about art, design, and music; as well as showcasing current projects, work in progress and other personal interests.
Nigel has been undertaking graphic design commissions, producing self directed projects and writing about design under the moniker Dubdog since 2002. In 2007 he started lecturing on the BA (Hons) Graphic Design course at University Campus Suffolk, Ipswich, for which he has been course leader since 2011.
Previously, Nigel has taught on art & design National Diploma and Foundation courses in further education and worked in a freelance capacity within various design studios. Prior to this, he has been employed as a book binder, an offset litho printer and a print finisher.
Alongside paid employment, Nigel has been actively involved in grassroots social & environmental organisations; and at various stages in his life, he has sung, played guitar and hit bits of metal in bands for little to no reward.
Nigel lives in Suffolk, UK, with his wife, several cats and a dog.
